Girls can play football, too

Since its beginnings, football has always been considered a sport only for men. In recent years, however, it seems that societies, especially the Italian one, have started to give the proper importance to female football teams.Nevertheless, I think that there are still too many substantial differences between the “two worlds”: first of all and unfortunately, female football is underestimated and women are often discriminated. Girls play football not for the desire to be rich and gain money, but for their passion and dedication to this sport, to have fun-also because, in many nations, they aren’t even paid.

Contrary to what everyone thinks, football is not only about running after a ball; for many people, it is a challenge, it’s a matter of tenacity, ambition and determination. There’s a strong desire to show that you are worthy of what you are doing and you feel like you want to do it as best as you can. It’s a way to “kickaway” discrimination, negativity, a way to feel better, even with yourself, to pursue your passion and to make it real.

Playing football is a combination of many different factors, for example emotions, the desire to do more and more and your aspiration to always gofurther. It creates a big family and gives you the opportunity to grow as a person, in the first place, but it also helps you improve as a footballer. In your team you are not just a number, you are part and parcel.

Thanks to your humanity, conviction and availability towards your teammates, you help them improve, grow and aim higher and higher. In this way you will achieve a lot of important goals.

In conclusion, what I can tell you is that despite all the discrimination you will be subjected to and despite all the people who will try to put a stop to your passion, you should never give up.
